The value of BOG ...................

was illustrated today with the VSR winner Calcutta Cup although my current stance on the weakness of selections backed prevented me from having more on. I had two horses to back EW for small stakes on advice received they were Sea Storm 1.00 & Calcutta Cup 2.30 both at Musselburgh, i decided to start off with a £25ew double on the two. Then the text from VSR came through and they were putting the same two up @ 1/2 pt ew, so they were my bets £150 outlay. The first selection was weak in the market and this was replicated in a poor run, so £100 down, i was going to top up the initial bet on Calcutta Cup to £50 ew but the weakness was a concern so i resisted..............

Calcutta Cup has been one of a few drifters to win recently 4/1 out to 11/1 Charlottes Grey, 4/1 out to 10/1 Alexander Family and today not as big but 7/2 out to 11/2 todays bet to me it illustrates the value of backing with a bookie offering BOG and i made it a policy some time ago to try and use these whenever possible even if it meant taking slightly inferior odds at the time of the bet.
